About Boone Appétit

Here is where I talk a little about Boone Appétit. As these things happen it was by chance that this blog came into being. I was doing my nightly walk around the town of Nyack, when I ran into Laura Grunwerg the Director of the Blauvelt Free Library. She was in town and looking for a place to eat. I rattled off about three or four places, giving her my take on my favorites. As we walked along she said, “Hey, you should do a food blog for the library.” So, here we are, I’m doing a food blog and you’re reading it and together I hope we can make it a truly great resource for people to use. I said (we) because you should be sending in questions and recipes and tips so that I’ll be able to share them with everyone who stops by.

I’ll be reviewing restaurants in and around the New York City tri-state area and anywhere I travel. I’ll be sharing recipes and talking about traditions and origins of certain foods and why you should try them. I’m passionate about food because it speaks to us on many levels. Food is cultural and universal, ( I have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t eat). Holiday foods and celebrations have created memories inside each of us that we carry for a lifetime. Enjoy your time looking around the blog and please drop me a line. I love getting email and sharing our common bond of food.
